API is the abbreviation of American Petroleum Institute. Founded in 1919, it was the first US national business association. One important task of API is to take responsibility for the standardization of oil & gas industry, ensuring the safety, reliability & interchangeability of equipments used in this industry. API Q1 quality system certification is to show the users that the products or services of manufacturers are able to meet API standards by recognizing the blameless quality management system of oil & gas equipment manufacturers.
