PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Drag Reducing Agent (referred to as DRA) is designed to increase flow rate or to reduce energy consumption (pressure drop) in crude oil pipelines by dampening the turbulent bursts.
This product can be described as an ultra-high molecular weight polyalphaolefin suspended in a non-aqueous base.
Pipeline throughput can instantly be increased, or pumping energy consumption (pressure drop) can instantly be reduced by as much as 40% / 50% depending on pipeline and crude conditions by adding a ppm (parts per million) level of DRA into crude.
APPLICATION METHOD
The additive is a non-aqueous based suspension product and thermally universal, allowing for use in almost all areas with a wide ambient temperature ranging from -30 to +55 C.
The product eliminates the concerns about the ambient temperature, and allows customers to concentrate on pipeline operation and the performance of DRA.
The DRA is usually injected into a pipeline just at the discharge side of the boosting pump. Drag reduction begins as soon as DRA starts to dissolve in the oil. When dissolved DRA product passes through a boosting pump the polymer is broken down or worn out by pump shearing. Consequently, a multi-station pipeline may need DRA injection points after each boosting pump station in order to achieve overall throughput increase.
STORAGE AND HANDLING
The product will be stable and keep its potency for one years if stored in ventilated, dry place with temperature range -10C ~ +45C in the tightly sealed container.
When handling the DRA, protective gloves and protective work clothing should be worn though DRA product is less harmful or irritable than the other chemicals.
Additional information concerning first-aid, fire fighting measures, transport information and regulations is given in the Material Safety Data Sheet, which is available upon request.
PACKAGE
The standard packing for DRA is a 1000L plastic container with protecting steel bar. Supply in other packing or bulk can be offered upon request.
